Country Home in Italy Buonconvento, Tuscany |
The Ripolina farm property is a vast 200-acre farm comprised of several different brick farmhouses. Both self-catering apartments for weekly stays and individual guest bedrooms are divided among five farmhouses including two of the largest apartments (for up to ten persons) within the Pieve di Piana, a cluster of houses grouped around an ancient church with bell tower dating to the year 900 and protected by a high stone wall. The richly historic Pieve sits on a hill and enjoys panoramic views of vineyards, grain and sunflower fields extending for as far as the eye can see. Hostess and owner, Laura Cresti from Siena, resides in the house called S. Ferdinando where one of the double rooms is also offered. The other five rooms are next door in Ripoli, each being individually appointed with appropriate country local antiques from the late 1800\'s. Walls are painted in various warm earth colors to distinguish one from another and the upstairs loggia, a typical open porch with its four large arched windows, has been enclosed and transformed into the breakfast room. A full country breakfast buffet includes fresh coffee cakes, fruit, cereals, yogurt, and even cheeses and breads. Bicycles are available for guests and are a wonderful way to visit the villages in the area. The territory is chock full of hilltowns to explore besides being in some of the most beautiful countryside of the Tuscan region.
