Yet another addition to the fast-growing agritourism sector is the lovely 300-acre countryside property of the Toscano brothers. Giovanni transferred from Florence to be a permanent resident at his grandfather’s vineyards. After years of meticulous restoration work on the group of three stone houses, they opened doors to guests, offering very comfortable accommodation within eight apartments of varying size (one to four bedrooms). One pale-yellow building holds two large apartments while the third stone structure holds the remaining apartments and has an arched loggia on the second floor. Rooms are tastefully decorated with antiques and country fabrics, enhancing the original beams and brick floors. Among the many services offered are individual telephones, satellite television, barbecue facilities, and bike rentals. The landscaping with its many cypress trees is as impeccable as the general ambiance. Attention to detail is evident also in the organization of activities such as wine-tastings, cooking lessons, and guided itineraries to Florence, Siena, and Arezzo. Beautiful scenery surrounds you, especially by the pool, seemingly part of the natural setting. Breakfast and other meals can be taken in the dining room overlooking the pool. Directions: From the A1 autostrada exit at Valdarno for Montevarchi, Bucine (8 km). From town follow signs up to Iesolana, passing over a stone bridge (2 km) to the end of the road.
