This small hotel is situated in the heart of Venice, a couple of minute's walk from St. Mark's Square and close to the main vaporetto stops. Most hotels along this premium stretch of water in Venice charge almost half as much again as the Paganelli. Francesco Paganelli continues to carry on the family tradition of hotel-keeping that was started when his grandfather opened the hotel in 1874. Before that, the hotel was part of the San Zaccaria convent, whose nuns revolted against the bishop and the Church in the 16th century. The hotel now consist of two buildings.
