Francesco Paganelli continues to carry on the family tradition of hotel-keeping that was started when his grandfather opened the hotel in 1874. Before that, the hotel was part of the San Zaccaria convent, whose nuns revolted against the bishop and the Church in the 16th century. The hotel now consist of two buildings. Some of rooms are certainly more up-to-date than the others, with full air-conditioning and new bathrooms.
