Travelling down Via Cavour you will arrive at Imperial Forum and the Coliseum, then passing through Piazza Venezia you will see the Victor Emmanual Monument. We will continue towards the river Tiber passing the Circus Maximus and the Temple of Vesta before arriving at the Tiberina and passing alongside the Jewish quarter with the big bronze-roofed Synagogue. We will then start our ascent of the Janiculum Hill where we will stop to enjoy the most splendid view of the `eternal city'. We then proceed towards the Basilica of St Peter, Castel Sant'Angelo and the ancient Ara Pacis to see these impressive monuments illuminated in all their glory. Arriving at Piazzale Flaminio you will see the famous Piazza del Popolo, the ancient northern entrance into Rome. Passing then through the beautiful park of Villa Borghese you will enter through the ancient Aurelian walls to arrive on to the legendary Via Veneto, the elegant street of the `Dolce Vita', you then complete the tour by visiting the Trevi Fountain where you will have the chance to throw a coin into the fountain ensuring your return to the Eternal City. Return to, or nearby your Hotel. |
